A customer contacted me the other day, inquiring about Outlet Controllers. Unlike a timer that one might use to turn on an everyday appliance or lights at a given time, in a laboratory enviornment, it seem logical that you would want a timer that is accurate, certified and will protect the equipment that it controls. One such timer is the Control Company 5090 Digital Outlet Controller.
This controller programs equipment on and off at any minute of any day and has a fail-safe memory which permits the programming of up to 14 different switchings per day. Plus, it can be allocated over four separate weekly programs for up to 196 switchings per week. The controller will turn equipment on and off in intervals as short as 1 minute or as long as 168 hours. The a.m./p.m. day programs allow repeating the same cycle every day of the week, weekdays only, weekends only, or any selected days. This is one smart timer!
Also available in an 8 outlet strip, these controllers are ideal for process automation. Four of the outlets are manual and four are time controlled. Units feature rugged ABS case, lighted on/off switch, and a push-to-reset circuit breaker. Uses include:
- Control Chemical, Water, or Air Pumps
- Warm Up Instruments at Preset Times
- Automate Testing, Heating, and Mixing Procedures
Both units include High Reliability and Serial Numbered Certificates from an ISO 17025 calibration laboratory accredited by A2LA to indicate instrument traceability to standards provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. UL listed.
As always, I encourage you to contact our knowledgeable laboraory staff here at LabPlanet for answers to any questions that you may have or if you just need additional information.
