VWR® Traceable® Workstation Digital Barometer. Now that summer is gone and we’re well into the fall season, we’re all noticing the changes in the weather. Before long we will all be dealing with snow, or what my wife refers to as the “S” word. Well, at least those of us who live up here in the north. So, with that being said, I had stumbled across the VWR Traceable Workstation Digital Barometer.
This is an ideal way of recording ambient changes in the lab and home. But for laboratory purposes, it can be used for monitoring conditions affecting samples analysis, and assisting in the prediction of weather changes. The workstation measures atmospheric pressure, displays temperature and time, and displays barometric trend graphically.
The graphic barometric trend displays the current reading as well as readings from previous 1, 3, 6, and 12-hour readings in the form of a bar chart format. It has forecasting indicators that will show weather conditions for the next 12 hours using symbols for sunny, cloudy, rainy, and partly cloudy.
The clock shows time in A.M./P.M. or 24-hour format. Each unit comes with a serial numbered certificate from an ISO 17025 calibration laboratory and accredited by A2LA to indicate instrument traceability to standards provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Aside from the technical aspects, it’s a nifty tool to have around.
